Your profile on Instagram is where potential followers will see whether or not to follow you. It’s the first impression your business or brand will make on Instagram, so you must get it right.

There are some things you need to do to maximize your Instagram profile.

Profile Picture

Your profile picture is one of the most important things visitors will see. It’s one of your first impressions. If your account is a business account, your logo should be used as your profile picture. Just make sure it’s a high-quality logo image.

Profile Bio

Your profile bio tells potential followers what your Instagram account is about. Show your personality in your profile. It helps build trust with your followers.

Followers should be able to tell exactly what your business does from your profile bio. You can also use this space to offer a discount to your Instagram followers.

Instagram now allows you to @ other Instagram accounts in your profile bio. If you have more than one Instagram account for your business, you can cross-promote each account and drive business to your other accounts.

Profile Image

Your profile image is another place to create a great first impression. This should be your logo if you’re a business.

Website

Your website should be listed in your profile bio section. You want to drive potential customers to your website.

Email

There is a field where you can add an email address so your followers can email you directly from Instagram. If you are selling products or services, then it is highly recommended that you insert your email in this field. It’s a great way for followers to get in touch with you without messaging through Instagram.

Directions

If you have a brick and mortar store, you can add your full address in this area. Your followers will get your location on a map. One downside, if you have more several locations, you can only add one location.
