Are you using Instagram for your small business? Instagram has a number of tools that make it easy for you to grab and keep potential customers’ attention.
We like Instagram because you can use it to tell your story, showcase your products or services, and build engagement with your audience.
It takes time to build an Instagram following. Here are some tips to help boost both your following and engagement.
Ask people to follow you
It’s that simple to get followers on Instagram. Just ask!
Include a link to your Instagram page on your website and even in your email signature so potential followers can get to your Instagram page quickly.
Use Instagram Stories
Stories appear at the top of your followers’ feed. You can post pictures and videos in your Stories. But did you know you can also ask questions or post a poll? Wouldn’t it be great to find out what your customers or potential customers think about a new product?
Stories are only up for 24 hours but they get a lot of attention.
Instagram Live
Instagram Live works like the Facebook Live feature you’ve probably used. You can engage with your followers in real time. Show what’s happening at an event you’re attending or hosting. If you set a regular time to go live, your followers will know when they can catch you. Instagram Live videos disappear after 24 hours.
Give IGTV a Try
Think of IGTV as YouTube for Instagram. You record a video and upload it. Add links to drive traffic to your website or a landing page. Unlike Instagram Live videos, IGTV videos don’t disappear after 24 hours.
Carousel Posts
Post up to 10 pictures at one time, including short videos with a carousel post. More pictures keep your followers engaged with your post longer as they swipe left to see what you’ve posted next. Longer engagement increases your chance of turning a follower into a customer.
