For many small businesses, the holiday season is their busiest shopping season of the year. With the hot summer weather, it’s hard to start thinking about the holidays, but smart business owners are getting ready now.

Make a List and Check it Twice

Does your business send out holiday cards? Start checking your mailing list to make sure you have all your current customers’ contact information and that it is correct. Don’t forget to include vendors and partners in this mailing.

If you have products that are available only during the holiday shopping season, you will want to check and clean up your email list too. Use your email list to build excitement about what’s coming in the winter…and you can do that now. Having that list ready to go will make sending out email blasts and newsletters easy.

Order Personalized Gifts

Do you give holiday gifts to your customers, vendors, and employees? If so, now is the time to start ordering them. You may be able to get price breaks on great items before the crazy fall ordering season begins.

Plan Your Social Media

If the holiday season is especially busy for you, spend time during the summer months planning a social media campaign for the season.

Invest the time in writing and posting on your social media platforms and scheduling the posts. This way, when you’re busy, the posts appear and you don’t have to think about it!

By preparing for the holidays, you’ll be more focused and less stressed during your busy season.
