Is your website user-friendly? A user-friendly website is one that has the needs of the user in mind.

Since nearly every business, large and small, has a website the online competition is fierce. If your website doesn’t provide a great user experience, users will leave and find another business.

Your user experience doesn’t have to be complex. There are some basic things you can include on your website that will help your users have a positive experience interacting with your business’ website.

Here are some simple things you can correct on your website to create a user-friendly site:

Get Right to the Point

Just get to the point on your home page. People are busy and don’t have time to wade through a lot of information to find what they want. Add prominent Call-to-Action (CTA) buttons that are easy for your visitors to find.

Easy Navigation

Your navigation structure is the backbone of your website. It guides the user through your pages almost from the first minute they arrive.

Actionable CTAs

Your Call-to-Action invites your site visitor to take a specific action. It can convert a simple site visitor to a subscriber or customer. Make your CTA bright, colorful, and easy to find on your home page.

Offer Valuable Information

One way to engage your website visitors is by educating them on what you do or sell. Offer in-depth information on your products or service on your site. This allows your visitors to make an informed decision about whether or not they want to try your product. You can offer this information in the form of guides, articles, or a comparison chart.

Integrate Social Media

81 percent of people in the U.S. have at least one social media account. Social media is a great place to get and share information and your customers know that. Include links to all your social media platforms on your website. Also, include your website in the “About” section of all your social media account.

Post to these platforms on a regular schedule. Allow your fans to share photos and blog posts.

Include Video

Video is a great way to get your message across in a way that sticks with the consumer. Videos add information to your website for the user who prefers to watch a video rather than read text as people learn and retain information in different ways.
