As a small business owner, you understand the power of social media, especially Facebook, on connecting with customers and telling your story.

Ensuring engagement with your fans is essential to increasing your reach, driving traffic to your website, and boosting sales.

Facebook engagement with your fans is having them like a post, comment on a post, share a post, clicking on a link, or watching your video.

How can you increase engagement with your fans? Here are some easy tips that can help.

Content is King

Share valuable content. Your content should be helpful to your readers. It should actionable advice that they can immediately implement in their business. By helping your readers solve their problems, they’ll come back to your page for more information.

Track Your Analytics

Your analytics will tell you when your audience is visiting your page. If, for example, you post at noon on Tuesdays but your analytics shows you that people are on your page at 11 a.m., you need to readjust your posting time to 10:30 a.m.

Tracking the times that the majority of your visitors are on your page can help you post at the right times for them. If you’re just starting out, Facebook shares that the optimal times to post are between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.

The best time to post is unique for every business so look at your analytics to see when your fans are visiting your page.

Look at your analytics to also tell you which posts performed better. Does your audience really like videos? Are your Facebook Live posts attracting a crowd? Or do your posts about customer successes? Check your post performances and give your audience what they enjoy the most.

Ask Questions

Perhaps the most straightforward way to boost engagement is to ask your audience questions. Get creative with your questions. Have a post a week that just asks a question. Give it a try to see if your audience responds.

Drive Traffic to Your Facebook Page

Do you use other social media channels? Send those followers to your Facebook page. Post a link to your Facebook page in a tweet. Include it in your Instagram bio. Have a link to your Facebook page on your website too.

Include a Call-to-Action

What do you want your fans to do? Do you want them to like your post? Share it? Use terms such as “share,” “now,” “like,” and “please” to encourage action from your readers.

Facebook has even added Call-to-Action buttons that reside below your Facebook cover photo. With actions like “Call Now,” “Contact Us,” and “Learn More,” you can ask your fans to reach out and learn more about your business. Use the right button for your business to have your audience take action.

With these easy to implement tips, you can increase your Facebook engagement significantly.
