Facebook likes to lead the way in social media so it’s no surprise that they are always adding new features and updating their platform. Here are some new updates just announced by Facebook.
Facebook Live – now with friends!
Do you use Facebook Live? Lovin’ it? I am! It’s a great way to share an awesome conference speaker or event.
Well, Facebook is making it so users can go live with another Facebook friend on a shared screen, just like FaceTime or Google Hangouts. What a cool way to interview a colleague or author and share that interview on your Facebook newsfeed! And, sure, it’s a fun way to connect with friends too!
Watch a Major League Baseball Game on Facebook
Facebook just signed a deal with Major League Baseball to livestream 20 free games this summer. That’s approximately one a week. So if you’re a diehard baseball fan, no need to rush home to see the game. It’s on your phone or tablet!
You can watch the first game here.
Facebook is hiring Facebook Live monitors
Facebook announced they will be hiring 3,000 people to monitor live video content. This is in response to the many Facebook Live videos depicting violent crimes. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook co-founder and CEO, said these monitors will serve to get people help if they need it and will remove offensive content from Facebook.
